Jim Previtera serves as the Senior Director of Security and Stadium Operations for the Tampa Bay Rays and the Tampa Bay Rowdies. His responsibilities include dual management of operations and security at Tropicana Field and Al Lang Stadium. Jim joined the Rays organization in 2018 to fill a newly created security oversight role and transitioned into the dual roles with Stadium Operations later that year. When the Rays acquired the Rowdies in 2019 Jim was involved in the transition to new ownership and operations.

The venture into the sports world was the start of a second career for Jim after 31 years in law enforcement. He retired as assistant chief of police in St. Petersburg but served with three other agencies during his time, including the United States Secret Service. For eleven years of his police career worked for Major League Baseball as a Resident Security Agent in addition to his career, and traveled to staff major events including World Series and All-Star games as well as international events overseas.

Jim is a graduate of Saint Leo College, the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, the US Secret Service Rowley Training Center, and the FBI National Academy. During his career, he has received several awards and commendations and in 2016 was read into the United States Congressional Record for his service.
