Darrin L. Frye
Darrin L. Frye, MD, MPH is an Associate Professor of the Strategic Intelligence and Emergent Technologies at the Joint Special Operations University at MacDill AFB in Tampa, Florida. Dr. Frye is a former US Army Reservist, serving as a Preventive Medicine and Civil Affairs officer with two deployments to Iraq. He has 3 decades of clinical experience in surgical, emergent, preventive, and performance medicine. His previous military assignment was at USAMRDC in Fort Detrick, MD where he led the Medical Simulation, and Sustainment of Expeditionary Medical Skills portfolios for the Combat Casualty Care Research Program. He focused on advanced immersive and emergent technologies designed to accelerate learning, improve training effectiveness, and maximizing operational cognitive and physical performance. Dr. Frye’s education includes an M.D. degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine – Wichita, an M.P.H. from Florida International University, and a B.G.S. in Human Biology from the University of Kansas.
