Vickie Chachere

Vickie Chachere has been a journalist, speechwriter and communications strategist in Florida for more than three decades, documenting and delivering insights into the transformation of the nation’s most dynamic and diverse state. Vickie began her career as a reporter for The Tampa Tribune and went on to serve as the supervisory correspondent for the Associated Press in Tampa, where she was a member of the AP team named finalists for the Pulitzer Prize for coverage of the 2000 presidential recount. Vickie spent 13 years at the University of South Florida, serving as a speechwriter and director of special projects for the Office of the President and as director of strategic communications for USF Research & Innovation during the university’s transformation into a global institution eligible to join the prestigious American Association of Universities. Vickie is a member of the reporting and editing team for the Forbes 50 Over 50, collaborating with Know Your Value to spotlight the most impactful women leaders in business, innovation and culture across the U.S. She previously served as executive editor for Florida Trend, an iconic 65-year-old magazine covering the state’s economy. She is a graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University and holds a graduate certificate in globalization studies from the University of South Florida. Vickie is a native of southern Oregon.
